Account Information

When you sign in using one of our supported authentication methods (Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In), we collect the following information from your account:

  • Profile Picture: Your account profile picture (if available)
  • Account Identifier: A unique identifier to link your account

This information is used solely for authentication purposes and to personalize your experience within the App. We do not access any other data from your authentication provider.

Vehicle and Maintenance Data

The following information is stored locally on your device:

  • Vehicle Information: Make, model, year, VIN, license plate, mileage, and other vehicle details
  • Maintenance Records: Service history, repairs, costs, dates, and notes
  • Photos and Attachments: Images of your vehicle, receipts, documents, and other files you choose to attach
  • Equipment Information: Details about vehicle equipment and accessories
  • Reminder Data: Maintenance reminders and notification preferences
  • Location Data: If you choose to enable location services, we may collect location information for mileage tracking or other features

Automatically Collected Information

  • Crash and Error Reports: We use Sentry, a third-party service, to collect crash reports and error logs to help us improve app stability and performance. This may include device information, operating system version, app version, and technical error details. No personally identifiable information is intentionally included in these reports.
  • Analytics Data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how users interact with the App and improve the user experience. This may include app opens, screen views, feature usage, device type, and general location (country/region). This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual users. Analytics collection is required for app operation and cannot be disabled.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

Your basic account information (name, email, profile picture) is stored securely on Appwrite, our backend service provider, to enable authentication and personalize your experience. This account data is separate from your vehicle and maintenance data, which remains stored locally on your device.

Third-Party Services

Appwrite: We use Appwrite as our backend service to store your account information and manage authentication. Your account data (name, email, profile picture) is stored on Appwrite's servers located in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). You can review Appwrite's privacy policy at https://appwrite.io/privacy

Google Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is processed through Google's OAuth 2.0 service via Appwrite. Google may collect information in accordance with their privacy practices. You can review Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy

Children's Privacy

Odometer is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

If you are accessing the App from outside your country of residence, please note that your information may be processed in different jurisdictions. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
